Denver Integrative Health is committed to transparency about who we serve and under what conditions, particularly for our youngest patients.
Age Requirements
We provide complementary and alternative health care services to children ages 2 through 8 years old. We do not provide services to children under age 2, in accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes § 6-1-724.
Required Consent
Before a child ages 2–8 receives care for the first time, we require:
- Written, signed consent from a parent or legal guardian.
- Disclosure that Nina Kimsey is not a physician licensed under Colorado’s Medical Practice Act, and is not licensed, certified, or registered by the State of Colorado as a health care professional.
- A recommendation that your child maintain an ongoing relationship with a licensed pediatric health care provider (such as a pediatrician or family physician).
- Your permission for Denver Integrative Health to attempt to coordinate with your child’s licensed pediatric health care provider, where one exists.
This consent is obtained prior to your child’s first appointment and is kept on file.
What This Means for Your Family
Our pediatric services are designed to complement, not replace, your child’s relationship with a licensed pediatrician or family physician. We do not diagnose disease, prescribe medication, or recommend that you discontinue any care recommended by your child’s doctor. Our role is to explore contributing factors, such as gut health, nutrition, and lifestyle, using non-invasive tools like at-home testing, and to work collaboratively alongside your child’s existing medical care whenever possible.
Questions
If you have questions about whether our services are a fit for your child, or about this policy, please contact us before scheduling an appointment.
